Controlled Production Environment
At Zenith Surgicals, we maintain complete control over the fabrication cycle. Our production units are divided into specialized sections to prevent cross-contamination of metals and ensure that each instrument grade is processed according to its metal characteristics.
We utilize strict quality checks, starting at the raw material stores. Our tools are fabricated using high-carbon and chromium-rich stainless steel alloys. This ensures that final products can withstand hundreds of sterilization and autoclave cycles without exhibiting structural fatigue or rust spotting.
Detailed Manufacturing Lifecycle
Material Selection
We source surgical-grade steel sheets and rods conforming to standard alloys like AISI 410, 420, 304, and 440. Every batch is certified and heat-coded for transparency.
Forging and Machining
Steel billets are forged in heavy-duty drop hammers and trimmed to create preliminary profiles. CNC milling machines then carve precision joint boxes, ratchets, and teeth.
Heat Treatment & Hardening
Instruments are treated in temperature-controlled vacuum furnaces to obtain optimal hardness ranges (e.g. 48-52 HRC for scissors, 40-45 HRC for forceps) ensuring mechanical endurance.
Grinding & Polishing
Artisans hand-grind margins to achieve perfect alignments. Controlled polishing processes yield Satin, Dull, or Mirror finishes that match clinical user preferences.
Chemical Passivation
Passivation in heated nitric acid baths removes surface iron particles, prompting the formation of a natural chromium oxide film that prevents corrosion.
Quality Control Inspection
Each piece is tested for function: scissors cut test cloths clean, forceps tips align under pressure, and joint movements remain smooth. Defects are rejected.
OEM Design and Custom Modifications
If your medical distribution network requires custom modifications to lengths, tips, handles, or teeth structures, our engineering desk can discuss specifications. We accept physical samples or technical drawings to construct prototypes for bulk approval.
Note: Custom designs are subjected to strict engineering lead times and tooling costs.
Laser Branding and Packaging Options
For private-label clients, we offer clean fiber-laser markings of your brand name, item code, and logo directly on the steel surface. Packaging options include simple sealed plastic pouches, custom printed cardboard boxes, barcode labels, and clean sterilization pouches.
